Creating Opportunities Through Career Exposure

EXPOSE’s Summer Career Series is coming this summer, bringing students together with professionals from healthcare, entertainment, entrepreneurship, mental health and other fields.

Through conversations, interactive workshops and real-world experiences, students will have opportunities to ask questions, learn about different career paths and gain a better understanding of what it takes to pursue them.

Following the impact of the 2025 program, EXPOSE is looking forward to another summer of learning, connection and career exploration.

Why Youth Career Exposure Matters

For many young people, career possibilities can feel limited to the professions they see around them. Creating opportunities to meet professionals, ask questions and hear about different career paths can help young people understand that there are many directions their future can take.

Through Voices of the Harbor: Youth for Environmental Awareness and Community Wellness, EXPOSE creates opportunities for youth to learn beyond the traditional classroom setting. Conversations with professionals can help students connect what they are learning today with real-world careers and begin thinking about the skills, education and experiences they may need for the future.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Youth development also happens through conversations, experiences and opportunities to explore. Career discussions, interactive activities and exposure to professionals allow young people to learn from real experiences while building confidence to ask questions and explore their interests.

Continuing the Work

The Voice of the Harbor program created meaningful opportunities for young people to learn, connect and explore. EXPOSE is continuing to build on that work through its youth programming, with support from the Port of Los Angeles Community Investment Grant.
