Dear Friends and Supporters,
April has been a meaningful month of connection, reflection and continued engagement across our communities. From local outreach efforts to cultural celebrations and women empowerment programs, EXPOSE remains committed to creating spaces where individuals can learn, connect and grow together.
Community Outreach with Community Outreach Coalition of South Los Angeles (COCOSouthLA)

The EXPOSE team joined COCOSouthLA (Community Outreach Coalition of South Los Angeles) in a community outreach initiative focused on raising awareness around important issues affecting our neighborhoods, including mental health.
The EXPOSE team joined COCOSouthLA (Community Outreach Coalition of South Los Angeles) in a community outreach initiative focused on raising awareness around important issues affecting our neighborhoods, including mental health. The engagement created space for open conversations between organizations and community members, allowing for shared learning, awareness building and dialogue around issues that continue to impact everyday life.
Opportunities like this remain important in strengthening community relationships and ensuring that conversations around wellbeing and support systems stay visible and accessible. We appreciate the continued work being done to create safe spaces where people can engage, ask questions and stay informed. |
Makoko School Cultural Day, Lagos, Nigeria
We also reflected on beautiful moments from the Makoko School Cultural Day in Lagos, Nigeria, filled with joy, creativity and pride.
Children participated in cultural performances and presentations dressed in traditional attire, expressing identity through music, movement, storytelling and visual expression. The event captured a strong sense of cultural pride and unity, with each moment reflecting the richness of heritage and the importance of passing it on to the next generation.
The energy and creativity displayed throughout the day served as a reminder of the strength of community and the power of young people expressing themselves with confidence, pride and cultural awareness.
EXPOSE Women Empowerment & Leadership Seminar, Accra, Ghana
EXPOSE hosted the Women Empowerment & Leadership Seminar at ALX Tech Hub, 1 Airport Square, Accra, Ghana, bringing together women for a focused session on leadership, confidence, skills development and access to opportunities.
The event brought together women from different backgrounds, creating a space where people could listen, share and learn from each other. The atmosphere was open and engaging, with participants actively involved throughout the session.
The day was centred on conversations around confidence, leadership and finding your voice in personal and professional spaces.

It created room for honest discussion, questions and reflection on real-life experiences and challenges.
The program also featured panel discussions, with speakers sharing insights across topics such as “The Power of Confidence: Owning Your Voice as a Woman Leader” and “From Vision to Impact: Leading with Purpose in Business and Life.” The session brought together a strong group of panelists including Emelia Clottey, Otuah Mavis, Benardine Ghanson, Dr. Afua Arhin, Hagar Boakyewaa, Salamatu Awudu and Monalisa Okojie, who each contributed to the conversations from their different experiences and backgrounds. Participants were introduced to available training and scholarship opportunities in areas such as fashion, hair and beauty, with clear guidance on how to get started and take advantage of these pathways. ![]()
There was also strong engagement during the networking session, with participants connecting, asking questions and having one-on-one conversations around their next steps. Overall, the seminar created a space that was not just informative, but also practical and encouraging, giving attendees something they could take forward beyond the event. |
Looking Ahead
As we move further into the year, EXPOSE remains focused on building programs and partnerships that support growth, learning and community engagement. Through outreach, cultural experiences and educational initiatives, we continue to create opportunities that bring people together and encourage progress across different communities.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for your continued support. |
