Empowering Minds, Uplifting Futures

Dear Friends and Supporters,

This past month at EXPOSE has been a powerful reminder of the importance of community-centered education, wellness, and mentorship. While not every season is marked by grand headlines, each step we take, each program we run, builds on our mission to uplift women, youth, and children through awareness, opportunity, and shared learning.

WORLD HEALTH DAY!

In recognition of World Health Day, we took time to reaffirm our commitment to health equity and education. Through our programs and partnerships, we continue to spotlight mental wellness, preventive care, and accessible resources for underserved communities.

Health is more than treatment, it’s empowerment, information, and safe spaces to learn and grow. Thank you to our volunteers, staff, and community allies who show up daily to make this possible.

YOUTH EXPOSE CHESS WORKSHOP: A Strategic Evening with Mr. Dasol Mashaka

Recently, the EXPOSE Chess Workshop took place at the EXPOSE Center, where youth from the community gathered for a dynamic and interactive chess session. The event was led by Mr. Dasol Mashaka, President of AAMOBOYS, who guided the participants through the fundamentals of chess while fostering an atmosphere of fun and learning.

Mr. Mashaka not only taught the basics of the game but also engaged the youth in hands-on chess matches, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. His enthusiasm for youth development shone through as he shared his belief that "Chess makes kids smarter." We are deeply grateful for his presence and leadership at the event, and to all the youth who participated with enthusiasm and curiosity.

The evening was further enriched by a Q&A session where the youth had the chance to explore the world of chess more deeply, ask questions, and connect over their shared love for the game. Special thanks to Ms. Monalisa Okojie, our Founder and Executive Director, for her unwavering support and for being present to share in the experience.

Looking Ahead: Mental Health & Wellness Event for Youths

We are excited to announce our upcoming event focused on mental health and wellness for youth. This event will offer a range of activities designed to encourage expression, self-reflection, and emotional connection. Young participants will have the opportunity to create mood masks as a fun and insightful way to express their emotions, and they can also engage in painting their emotions through an interactive art session. For those looking for a more reflective activity, we will host a Feelings Jenga game, combining play with the exploration of emotional awareness. Additionally, a Calm Down Bottle Station will allow youths to create their own calming tools, while the Dear Future Me Letters activity will provide a space for them to reflect on their hopes, dreams, and future.

It’s a safe space for healing and growth, and we look forward to fostering a supportive community for all.

Creative Spaces. Real Conversations. Healing Starts Here.💙
