Youth Mentorship Program

Program Overview

The EXPOSE Youth Mentorship Program is designed with compassion and care to guide and support young individuals aged 13-24 as they navigate their personal, academic, and career journeys. By connecting youth with experienced and understanding mentors, we aim to foster meaningful relationships, build self-confidence, and promote lifelong learning and growth.

Our program offers:

Personal Development: We help enhance self-awareness, boost self-esteem, and nurture emotional intelligence.
Academic Support: We provide guidance on overcoming academic challenges, improving study skills, and setting achievable goals.
Career Exploration: We offer insights into various career paths and the skills needed to pursue them, empowering our youth to dream big.
Life Skills: We teach essential life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and time management, equipping our mentees for success in all areas of life.
Community Engagement: We encourage active participation in community service and extracurricular activities, fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility.

In our program, mentees are thoughtfully paired with mentors based on shared interests, career aspirations, and personal goals. We understand that not every young person knows exactly what they want or need, and that's perfectly okay. During our initial orientation, the program director or mentor will introduce program expectations, guidelines, and goals. According to the mentee's needs, the mentor and mentee will meet one-on-one to discuss progress, challenges, and future plans.

We understand that each young person is unique, and our approach is designed to provide the support and encouragement they need to thrive.

Youth Career Series

EXPOSE Youth Career Series is a transformative initiativededicated to empowering young Angelinos. Our program isdesigned to connect youth with inspiring professionals andhands-on experiences that ignite a vision for their future.

Through career days, immersive STEAM workshops, andenriching field trips, we cultivate a pathway to success forunderserved communities, fostering economic prosperity andequitable opportunities. Our tailored approach ensures thatwe address the unique needs of the communities we serve.

At EXPOSE Los Angeles, we champion STEAM education,recognizing the enduring relevance of Science, Technology,Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics in today's ever-evolvinglandscape. By integrating creativity with STEM disciplines, weprepare our youth to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

University Summer Camp

EXPOSE Partnerships with Universities and College

EXPOSE continues to connect with colleges and school districts across the nation to increase equity and educational opportunity gaps for scholars in marginalized communities. The team has collaborated with college representatives to plan and initiate early exposure for Los Angeles scholars to attend summer programs at top universities to boost their confidence in pursuing STEAM degrees and careers. EXPOSE is implementing a project action model that proves underserved scholars need social capital support, mentors, and scholarships to pursue STEAM professions.

EXPOSE now offers STEAM project-based activities, teen summits, and other learning experiences for scholars at all grade levels in school districts within and outside of the Los Angeles County area. Collaborations with school systems include EXPOSE team members who become active educational partners with campus staff to help increase student performance, attendance, and behavioral support. Additionally, the team offers school-wide mental health awareness sessions for parents, staff, and community members to assist children better.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

EXPOSE exemplifies a steadfast commitment to serving the community through various impactful initiatives locally in Los Angeles. One of its primary endeavors is sponsoring Community Outreach Programs, which aim to address the basic needs of the less privileged. Through these programs, EXPOSE provides essential resources such as food, clothing, and other necessities to those who are most vulnerable, fostering a sense of solidarity and support within the community.

Moreover, EXPOSE actively engages with the youth through its Youth Engagement and Mentoring programs, recognizing the importance of empowering the next generation. By offering mentorship opportunities and guidance, the organization seeks to inspire and uplift young
individuals, equipping them with the tools and skills necessary to thrive. This investment in youth not only fosters personal development but also cultivates future leaders who are committed to making positive contributions to society.

An exemplary annual initiative organized by EXPOSE is the Thanksgiving Feed the Homeless event, which involves the distribution of care packages to homeless individuals in Los Angeles. These packages are thoughtfully curated to include essential items such as reusable masks, socks, and hygiene supplies, addressing immediate needs while also promoting health and well-being within the homeless community. Through initiatives like these, EXPOSE continues to
demonstrate its unwavering dedication to serving and uplifting those in need, embodying the true spirit of compassion and community support.
